2016年8月15日上午10点，英国萨丽大学（University of Surrey）Charley Wu 教授应邀在正规外围买球app227会议室为正规外围买球app师生作了题为“Computational Formulation Engineering: A Mechanistic Approach for Manufacturing Formulated Particulate Systems”的学术报告，本次报告会由正规外围买球app院长褚良银教授主持。

报告会上，Charley Wu 教授首先介绍了萨丽大学，简述其的教学情况，发展状况和地理位置等。随后，Charley Wu 教授由实际生活中的例子引出模拟颗粒运动在生产过程中的重要作用，并着重介绍了如何采用离散元法-计算流体力学的分析方法进行粉体填料和压片等过程的模拟。最后，Charley Wu 教授还介绍了有限元法，以及离散元-有限元结合分析方法在流程模拟中的应用。

在提问环节，Charley Wu 教授和现场师生对就如何设计和选择合适的模拟方法进行流程模拟展开了热烈探讨，大家受益匪浅，以热烈的掌声感谢Charley Wu 教授带来的精彩报告。

附Charley Wu 教授简介：

Prof. Chuan-Yu (Charley) Wu is a professor in Chemical Engineering at the Department of Chemical and Process Engineering and a member of the Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences (APS). He is currently coordinating a EU FP7 Initial Training Network (ITN) consortium (€3.8M) on the development of in silico models for roll compaction, which consists of 10 full partners and 4 associate partners from 8 EU countries. He has expertise in discrete element analysis, multiscale modelling and simulations, pharmaceutical engineering, particle technology and granular dynamics. Prof. Wu has been working closely with global pharmaceutical companies over the last 10 years and has run industrial collaborative research projects with Pfizer, AstraZeneca, MSD and Sanofi in developing advanced numerical modelling techniques for pharmaceutical application and established a strong link with the global pharmaceutical industry.
